ACADEMY LEAGUE St. Margaret's 1, Whitney 0 Mary Rachel Walsh scored on a direct free kick in the 18th minute to give visiting St. Margaret's (8-6-2, 4-0-1) the win over Whitney (3-11, 1-5). Goalkeeper Valerie Gilmore had eight saves for the Tartans. SOUTH COAST LEAGUE Aliso Niguel 1, Mission Viejo 0 Molly Curran scored the lone goal for Aliso Niguel (9-2-6, 3-1-2) in the victory over host Mission Viejo (9-11-1, 1-5-0). Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 ALPHA LEAGUE Crossroads 1, Whittier Christian 0 Kaitlin Juarez recored her third shutout of the season and Melissa Gibson scored on a corner kick for the Roadrunners (3-14-2, 2-4) in a home victory. BIG SKY LEAGUE Murrieta Calvary Chapel 13, Anza Hamilton 0 Kathryn Howell and Andrea Lammers both scored three times in an away victory for the Warriors (12-2-1, 2-0-1). FRONTIER LEAGUE Oak Park 2, La Reina 1 Ashley Umann came up with both goals, one off a throw in from Amanda Cox with a flick from Kathryn Klamecki in the 11th minute and the second on a breakaway just two minutes later, for Oak Park (7-5-3, 3-2). LIBERTY LEAGUE Buckley 4, Providence 0 Alexandra Gatti's three goals sparked host Buckley (4-4-1, 1-4). Catherine Ortiz-Benz also scored. MIRAMONTE LEAGUE Calabasas 1, Simi Valley 1 Alexis Levy scored in the 20th minute and goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman made nine saves for Calabasas (1-9-5, 0-6-2). Simi Valley scored in the 69th minute. MISSION LEAGUE Flintridge Sacred Heart 2, Notre Dame Academy 0 Bianca Garorien scored two second-half goals for Sacred Heart (3-0-1 in league). Notre Dame fell to 3-2-0. Harvard-Westlake 2, Alemany 0 Doni Hunter-Sallustio scored in the 40th minute and Carter Shaw added a score in the 60th for the victorious Wolverines (4-4-6, 3-0-1). PACIFIC LEAGUE Burbank 5, Glendale 0 Coco Austin scored two goals and goalie Jenna Todd recorded her ninth shutout of the season for Burbank (8-5-2, 4-2-2). Glendale is 3-5 in league. RIO HONDO LEAGUE Monrovia 46, Temple City 30 Jasmine Gordon had 21 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and three blocks for Monrovia (12-7, 3-1) at Temple City. WEST VALLEY LEAGUE El Camino Real 1, Granada Hills 0 Katie Etcher scored on a breakaway in the 78th minute for host El Camino Real (3-8-2, 2-2), winner of the last seven City Section soccer titles. Cody Kornack made two saves for her second shutout for the Conquistadores. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 CENTURY LEAGUE Anaheim Canyon 1, El Dorado 0 Adriana Alonzo scored the lone goal for Anaheim Canyon (12-4-4, 5-0) in the victory over host El Dorado (5-5-0, 1-3-0). Kristen Armstrong had five saves for the Comanches. GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE Rancho Alamitos 2, Garden Grove 0 Brittney Holt and Candice Holt each scored for Rancho Alamitos. OLYMPIC LEAGUE Cerritos Valley Christian 3, Windward 0 Mandy Petrus had two goals and Lizette Del Toro added the third goal for Valley Christian (9-9-2, 3-1) in the victory over host Windward (0-3 in league). ORANGE COAST LEAGUE Costa Mesa 1, Santa Ana Calvary Chapel 1 Kyra Graham scored for host Costa Mesa (6-7-5, 0-0-3) and Andie Reyes scored on a penalty kick for Calvary Chapel (11-5-2, 1-1-1). SOUTH COAST LEAGUE Aliso Niguel 4, Capistrano Valley 0 Danika Ziemer, Alyssa Newcomer, Lexi Deol and Candice Watt each scored for Aliso Niguel (8-2-6, 2-1-2). Goalie Kathleen Messinger and Missy Rhoades combined on the shutout. Capistrano Valley fell to 8-9, 2-3. SUNSHINE LEAGUE Marymount, 1, Marlborough 0 Taylor Latimer scored the only goal in the 64th minute for Marymount (6-3-4, 2-1-1). Goalkeeper Hannah Zimmerman had eight saves and recorded her fourth shutout. Marlborough fell to 4-3-2, 0-1-2. TRINITY LEAGUE Mater Dei 5, Rosary 0 Justyne Freud scored the first two goals for Mater Dei and Noni Esquer made four saves in the shutout. Orange Lutheran 2, J Serra 0 Mandy Nader and Haley Yurtin each scored for Orange Lutheran. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 RIO HONDO LEAGUE San Marino 2, South Pasadena 0 Lindsay Wofford scored both goals for San Marino in the victory over South Pasadena. SUBURBAN LEAGUE La Mirada 2, Bellflower 0 Karina Gonzalez and Jasmine Herrera scored one goal each for La Mirada (9-6-4, 3-1) in the victory over Bellflower (4-9-0, 2-3). Cerritos 2, Norwalk 1 Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008 ALMONT LEAGUE Schurr 2, Alhambra 0 Jessica Guzman and Shannon Caubill each scored and goalie Leticia Garcia recorded the shutout for visiting Schurr, which improved to 2-0-1 in league. ALPHA LEAGUE Campbell Hall 3, Crossroads 0 Krystal Moore scored three goals for Campbell Hall (5-2, 3-0). BIG SKY LEAGUE Calvary Murrieta 6, Nuview Bridge 0 Kensey Snyder and Amanda Lammers scored two goals each and Ashley Brodmann and Whitney Booth scored one each for the Warriors (11-2-1, 1-0-1) in the victory over Nuview Bridge. CENTURY LEAGUE Anaheim Canyon 1, Brea Olinda 0 (OT) Junior midfielder Stephanie Morgan scored on a header off a corner kick by Lauren Irwin seven minutes into the first overtime period to help Canyon (11-4-4, 4-0), ranked No. 4 in Division II, retain sole possession of first place in league with a victory against No. 2 Brea Olinda (13-3-2, 2-1-1) at Fred Kelly Stadium. Senior goalkeeper Kristin Armstrong made seven saves for the victory, and Whitney Joslin had five saves for Brea Olinda. DESERT VALLEY LEAGUE Rancho Alamitos 3, La Quinta 1 Amanda Ahsoon scored one goal and Brittney Holt added two goals to lead Rancho Alamitos to victory over La Quinta. GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE Garden Grove 1, Garden Grove Santiago 0 Felicia Gonzalez scored one goal to lead visiting Garden Grove (5-6-3, 3-0-0) to victory over Santiago. OLYMPIC LEAGUE Cerritos Valley Christian 3, Paraclete 0 Makena Piercy had a goal and an assist and Jacqueline Lara and Michelle Mellinger also scored for host Valley Christian (8-9-2, 2-1). Paraclete fell to 1-1 in league. SOUTH COAST LEAGUE San Clemente 1, Aliso Niguel 0 Greer Zerboni scored on a throw-in during the 32nd minute to lift San Clemente (16-2-1, 4-0) in the victory at Aliso Niguel (7-1-6, 1-1-2). Hannah Turpin made eight saves for San Clemente, and Kathleen Messinger had three Aliso Niguel. SUNSHINE LEAGUE Marymount 2, Ramona Convent 0 Rebecca Hextall scored her ninth goal and Jen Magga also scored for host Marymount (5-3-4, 1-1-1). Hannah Zimmerman recorded her third shutout. Ramona Convent fell to 1-2-1. TRINITY LEAGUE Mater Dei 0, Orange Lutheran 0 Goalie Kaitlyn McCluney made 12 saves for Orange Lutheran (10-7-2, 1-1-1). Mater Dei goalie Darien Vercillo had three saves. Santa Margarita 2, JSerra 0 Lauren Bohaboy and Michelle Lostus each scored, Lindsey Lostus and Bri Edwards each had an assist and goalkeepers Parris Wells and Kristen Redsun combined for two saves for Santa Margarita (12-2-3, 2-0-2), ranked No. 6 in the Division I coaches' poll, at Serra (4-5-2, 1-2-0). VALLE VISTA LEAGUE Baldwin Park 2, Pomona 0 Elizabeth Salazar scored both goals and Alejandra Armendariz made 10 saves for Baldwin Park (1-1-1 in league) against Pomona (3-7-3, 1-1-1) at Ganesha. Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 VALLE VISTA LEAGUE Pomona 2, San Dimas 2 Outside halfback Sarah Hanna of San Dimas scored the tying goal with 63rd minute against visiting Pomona. Senior center fullback Cindy Paez scored both goals for Pomona (4-6-2, 1-0-1). |
