TOURNAMENTS CROSSROADS Pool Play Malborough 3, Windward 0 Olivia Kaplan, Monica Jean and Dominique Vellutato scored goals to lift Marlborough (3-2) past Windward. Oaks Christian 4, Brentwood 1 WESTERN CHRISTIAN Pool Play Pasadena Poly 2, Charter Oak 1 Katie Gancedo and Maggie Casey scored one goal each for Pasadena Polytechnic in the victory over Charter Oak. Heather Physioc scored one goal for Charter Oak. Poly goalkeeper Hannah Dunham had five saves. St. Lucy's 1, Maranatha 1 Daelyn Paul scored one goal for St. Lucy's in the tie with Maranatha. Maranatha's goal was scored by Jessica Austin. CITRUS BELT LEAGUE Yucaipa 3, Redlands East Valley 0 Braelyn Tirella scored two goals and April Moreno had one, while Sarah Taylor, Amanda Simpson and Lindsay Cano each had an assist and goalie Jessica White posted 13 saves for Yucaipa (5-0, 1-0). Redlands East Valley (1-2, 0-1) outshot Yucaipa, 19-16. NONLEAGUE Anaheim Canyon 1, Glendora 1 Kristi Nottingham scored in the second half for Glendora (4-0-3). Jillyan Medina scored in the first half for Canyon (3-0-1). Calvary Murrietta 6, Vista Tri-City Christian 0 Ashley Brodmann scored two goals for Calvary Murrietta (2-1) over host Tri-City Christian. Sara Spousta, Kathryn Howell, Amanda Lammers and Alisha Kubel also scored. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 TOURNAMENTS ALISO VIEJO Pool Play El Toro 2, Mater Dei 1 Senior Ali Thompson scored the winning goal on a header for El Toro (2-0) in the victory over Mater Dei (0-1-1). Harvard-Westlake 2, Aliso Niguel 2 Katie Speidel and Haley Boysen each scored their third goals of the season to lead Harvard-Westlake (1-1-2) to a tie with Aliso Niguel (2-0-2). Los Alamitos 2, Orange Lutheran 0 NONLEAGUE Alhambra 4, Cantwell Sacred Heart 2 Vanessa Gutierrez had a hat trick for Alhambra (1-1-2) in the victory over host Cantwell Sacred Heart. Beverly Hills 0, Sunny Hills 0 Rebecca Gold had five saves in her third shutout of the season for host Beverly Hills (3-2-1). Sunny Hills is the Division III defending champion. Costa Mesa 2, Sage Hill 0 Kyra Graham and Sam Trodel scored for Costa Mesa (2-2-1). Hannah MacLeod had 15 saves for Sage Hill. Covina 4, Nogales 1 Rebecca Ruiz scored four goals, two in each half for visiting Covina (2-1). The sophomore has scored six goals on the season. NONLEAGUE Anaheim Canyon 7, West Covina 0 Caitlin Williams scored two goals for Canyon (3-0) in the victory over West Covina (0-5). L.A. Baptist 3, St. Genevieve 3 L.A. Baptist scored three unanswered goals in the second half to tie St. Genevieve after trailing 0-3 at halftime. Kaleigh Sack and Noelle Kauffman each had one goal and one assist, and Crystal Cabrera added another goal for the Knights. Goalkeeper Kjersten Waschak had nine saves for L.A. Baptist. Miller 4, Arroyo Valley 0 Evelyn Calderon scored three goals and Amairany Rivera added one for host Miller (1-1-1), which led 2-0 at halftime. Amanda Villarreal made 14 saves for her first shutout. Arroyo Valley dropped to 0-2-1. NONLEAGUE Compton Centennial 3, Temescal Canyon 0 Compton Centennial improved to 3-1. Temescal Canyon dropped to 1-1 with the home loss. Mater Dei 1, Mayfair 1 Nicole Depuy scored the goal for Mater Dei (1-1-1) and Brittanie Perez tallied for Mayfair (2-0-1). Marlborough 2, Malibu 1 Jenny Meyer scored the game-winning goal on an assist by Dominique Vellutato with 15 minutes remaining in the game for Marlborough (2-2) at Malibu. Vellutato also got the assist on an own goal against Malibu that tied the score at 1-1 midway through the first half. Montclair Prep 2, AGBU 0 Kimberly Gonzalez scored a goal and had one assist and Maddie Hunter added the other goal for Montclair Prep (2-1). Goalkeeper Tori Halote recorded her second shutout for the Mounties. AGBU falls to 0-2. Walnut 2, Diamond Bar 1 Veronica Ramos scored both goals for Walnut (2-0). |
